Love Whispers

I don't know about you but for me this summer was a big boring, although I have kept very busy, it really flew by in the blink of an eye.

It seems to me that this summer was really focused on love and relationships from the point of view of pop culture and general programming (at least the things that I watch).

From Barbie to JK singing about love and Junny inviting us to his place, I really felt a strong focus on the elements of interpersonal relationships.

One of my favourite Chinese dramas that dominated the ratings in China all summer long was "The Longest Promise". It was certainly long and so twisted with so many plot changes. I really enjoyed the character development arcs, the story itself but I did not enjoy the ending. Why can't people who are in love with each other end up together? I see it as a fairly common theme in these dramas. I do have to give a huge nod to Xiao Zhan for yet another incredible portrayal of Shi Ying in the drama, along with Ren Min who did an outstanding job creating Zhu Yan but more so acting alongside Xiao Zhan in such an evocative manner. The artwork for this series was also exceptionally beautiful and I will share some of it below. It's currently airing on Netflix and I do highly recommend it. :)

I have also updated my author page on Amazon and included some reviews I first received when I published my two books. The reviews were so touching and so accurately described my intentions in those books so I hope you check out my page.

Lastly, I started writing my first novel but it is still in its very rudimentary stages. The title is also tentative but for now here is a short excerpt from the book:

"Fall was finally here! The trees, beautifully colored, adorned the streets in her neighborhood where Mei often walked on weekend afternoons. She reminded herself that having the privilege to walk in peace and to behold such a beautiful sight of nature is a blessing in itself and should not be taken for granted. Of course, the other part of her heart was so sad that she could not enjoy this special moment with a loved one. She kept walking only half happy but she was accustomed to this level of happiness. In the end, what is happiness? It is most likely a self construed variable based on societal imposed subjective attributes, was it not? Perhaps we could all be fully happy under different circumstances." - title TBD

Here is to one awesome Fall season when "I really wish I could tell you this and much more. Maybe one day I will, maybe one day I won’t but I hope we get a chance to at least talk things out. " - title TBD
