Since there are so many songs that I absolutely love, I thought I would slowly build a list of some of my favourites. I listen to a lot of K R'n'B but also other genres. I think music and art are love in their purest forms because we get to express emotions, thoughts and feelings that would otherwise be almost impossible to showcase.
The Rose, for example, is one of my favourite bands and they never dissapoint with their music. Their latest songs are so good, I have been listening to them on repeat.
Here are some current songs I really love, some of which are quite relevant to my personal life right now, while others are just great to listen to :) This is also great prep for the Jimmy Brown concert in November!
This song is a tad sad because it talks about ending something but also carrying so much desire and love that it makes it hard to disconnect.

I really like Jackson Wang because he is always so sweet to women and respects them. Even though he has been through a lot he never gives up. That is something I really admire.

Akmu, my favourite sibling duo! This song has two meanings, as descrbied by Chan-hyuk. It is a take on their last name and how they are hoping the fans still love them. It is also dedicated to those who like/love someone with Lee as a last name. ;)
When we fall in love with the right person, it really feels like we are going to Heaven. Ailee and MuJin's vocals are beyond amazing.
Hyolyn has one of the best voices in the industry. This song speaks to me so much because we all want someone we love to get close to us and not be afraid to let their guard down.
When I first saw this MV, I immediately though this is the best portrayal of how two people in love should feel and behave. Yes, I know I am super romantic at times, although I don't show it. That's why we need other mediums to encapsulate our emotions and bring them out.The entire energy in this video beats any kdrama, cdrama, love drama I have ever watched. I can certainly wish and hope for such an experiencce myself.
The desire to run to someone every day, despite all the problems and obstacles that life throws at you is priceless.
Many times in my life I have felt like this and I am glad they wrote this song based on a fan's past experience. I think we all have moments when we feel not enough or too ugly or just insecure. What is the definition of ugly after all? What is the definitely of beauty by contrast?
Woosung is another genius when it comes to writing and producing songs. Modern Life is about....modern life and how social media has permeated so many layers of our lives. Like the lyrics go, everyone is so happy on Instagram; we start losing track of who we are because we can't keep up with this "happiness" we see online. A reminder for me too to not get swayed by what I see and continue to follow my own path towards my own happiness.
One of my favourite BTS songs and one inspired by the movie "The Snowpiercer", which I have seen and did not like due to its excessive dystopian elements. However, the themes presented are very powerful. The hidden meaning behind the lyrics of this song has to do with not losing hope, despite all the difficulties (represented by winter) because spring will come again and everything will come back to life. It is a tribute to the 2014 ferry disaster in Korea and the parents of those poor children.
I resonate with this song because I have also been in situations where who I liked did not agree with who society thought I should like. I often wonder why everyone is judgmental on matters that ultimately have no impact on their individual lives. Luckily for me, I don't follow public opinion but my own. :)
This is one of the first MVs I have seen of Jimmy Brown that made me like his voice so much and, eventually, got me to interview him. He is very talented and also nice to talk to.
One of my favourite songs ever and one that I can, surprisingly, sing at noraebang. Their harmonies are velvet to my ears.
One of my favourite Mamamoo songs!!! It's so sad, yet so meaningful. Their voices and harmonies are incredible.

Hwasa's albums are very powerful and often resonate with me a lot on many levels. What I love most about this song and video is that despite all the arrows thrown at you, you can still blossom. I love the significance of the white dress and the words she used "떨어지는 비에도 꽃은 피어나니까". It's so true! 그렇게 생각해요!
To me this song has dual meanings. First one has to do with unrequited love and the second one has to do with the love we give ourselves. In our society it is more and more common to not love ourselves and to continually be unhappy with who we are as we seek "perfection" or utopian happiness. Regardless, this song has a poignant message that we should all pay attention to.
눈이 왔다! 너무 빨라요! 눈 오면 더 많은 힘이 필요해요. 최고의 노래를 찾았어요. 아무등...You know that feeling when one special person can recharge you simply by being around you or by looking at you? Well, this song is exactly about that! I find it super cute and silly. I can tell you this 느낌 really does exist.

I love how Hyolyn uses all backgrounds and body sizes in her MV's. I love the inclusivity and representation for all woman out there. We are not all a size 2 lol
